Tiny homes are becoming a trend nowadays. As land appreciates over time, house prices and rental prices rapidly increase. This leads to more people choosing to opt for smaller houses. However, these small homes are not what we are talking about here, we are searching for the smallest houses in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the normal range of small houses, some homes barely fit two people! And some homes are so small that you can literally park them anywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n

So let\u2019s check some of the smallest houses in the world, the houses that you have to see to believe.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Matchbox house, Washington DC, USA<\/span><\/h2>\n

Artist Jay Austin designed and built this 150 square foot house himself, he called it the Matchbox.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not just tiny, but the house is also mobile. Jay lived in three different areas using the same small house. In addition to that, the house is eco-friendly and self-sustaining, it relies mainly on solar energy.<\/span><\/p>\n

The most prominent feature of the interior design is the abundance of sunlight, the walls feature large windows that bring the outside in. And above the bed, which is well placed in a loft, there\u2019s a skylight that allows the sleeper to gaze at the stars. <\/span><\/p>\n

House On A Rock, Serbia<\/span><\/h2>\n

Sitting atop a rock in the middle of the Drina River, this one-bedroom house has been standing for more than 45 years despite of the hard weather in \u00a0Serbia\u2019s winter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Building parts and materials were transported to the building site by boats and kayaks. And the house is a private vacation house.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, it rests on a beautiful spot overlooking Tara National Park, which is a natural forest protected by UNESCO. This tiny home is not only one of the smallest houses in the world, but also one of the most beautiful<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seelenkiste, Germany<\/span><\/h2>\n

A group of three architecture students designed this house. They wanted it to be a movable dwelling for one person. It is supposed to be placed in natural surroundings so the person can reunite with nature and find their true self.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, it looks really comfortable despite of its size. And the use of natural fair wood in the interior design makes the place look more spacious than it really is.<\/span><\/p>\n

The total area of the house is 8 square meters; yes, this is a house for just one person indeed!<\/span><\/p>\n

Little House, Toronto<\/span><\/h2>\n

One of the smallest houses in the world, this house is complete with all lifestyle amenities. It even has a tiny backyard. And all on a total area of 28 square meters. C<\/span>ontractor Arthur Weeden built this house when he realized the small empty lot between two normal sized houses, and decided to make use of it. <\/span><\/p>\n

The tiny house comprises a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and a living area. With smart solutions to save space like a foldable kitchen table and a murphy bed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Quay House, Britain<\/span><\/h2>\n

Guinness Book of Records has officially declared this as the smallest house in great Britain, something that the owners of the house are very proud of.<\/span><\/p>\n

The house was a private property of a fisherman named Robert Jones, he used to live in it until the council declared the house unfit for human habitation. His descendants turned the house into a tourist attraction.<\/span><\/p>\n

The tiny red house is only 10 feet high, but it comprises two floors; the first floor is the living area and the second floor is the bedroom.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nolla Cabin, Finland<\/span><\/h2>\n

Finnish designer Robin Falck has designed and built this \u00a0A-frame mirrored holiday home which is designed to allow visitors a zero-emissions holiday.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cabin is mobile and built with all sustainable materials. The name Nolla comes from the Finnish word for zero. The house looks like a modern day tent, which was intended by the architect to make the holiday feel like camping.<\/span>

Macy Miler\u2019s house, Idaho, USA<\/span><\/h2>\n

Spreading over just 196-square-foot, the American architect Macy Miler designed and built this house herself. At a time when she was tight for cash, Macy decided to make good use of her education and design a small house for herself with a small budget of 11,000$.<\/span><\/p>\n

The house is made up of all sustainable materials, such as radiant floor heating, a composting toilet, and a modified green roof. <\/span><\/p>\n

This tiny home offers enough space for a small family and their huge dog. Macy even says it offers an abundance of storage room as she has used all dead areas to create storage space.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nowadays, Macy gives numerous workshops on building small houses.<\/span><\/p>\n
