1. \u00a0Villisca Ax Murder House, Villisca, Iowa\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

In June 1912, an unknown individual with an ax<\/strong> murdered Josiah and Sarah Moore, their four children, and two guests.<\/p>\n

Never solved, \u00a0the Villisca murder case is still considered a mystery to this very day.<\/p>\n

Since then, the house has been a center for paranormal activity.<\/p>\n

Widely reported incidents include apparitions, footsteps, and voices.<\/p>\n

The most common occurrence comes in the form of children’s laughter and crying<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Although the home has no running water or electricity, you can spend the night at the Villisca Ax Murder House<\/a> for $400-plus.<\/p>\n

2. The Sallie House, Atchison, Kansas<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

If you visit this house, expect to meet apparitions, flying objects, and items reappearing<\/strong> all over the house.<\/p>\n

It is believed that a little girl named Sallie, who was the victim of a failed appendectomy, sparked the hauntings.<\/p>\n

Although there is no evidence that little Sallie ever lived or died in the house, the rumor lives on.<\/p>\n

Residents and paranormal investigators have additionally reported scratches, burns, and cuts<\/strong> on their bodies.<\/p>\n

The property is empty<\/strong> but still attracts\u00a0fans of the paranormal who record their own experiences.<\/p>\n

3. Lizzie Borden House, Fall River, Massachusetts<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

Another house that starts with a gruesome murder, as two individuals were found axed to death<\/strong> in their home in 1892.<\/p>\n

They were Lizzie Borden’s father and stepmother.<\/p>\n

Although acquitted of the crime due to lack of physical evidence, Lizzie was the prime suspect at the time.<\/p>\n

Despite her acquittal, many believe she had committed the heinous act.<\/p>\n

You can hear Lizzie laughing at the top of the stairs<\/strong> late at night.<\/p>\n

Sightings also include her murdered parents and a maid screaming for help.<\/p>\n

The house is now a museum and bed and breakfast.<\/p>\n

4. Lemp Mansion, St. Louis, Montana<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

The Lemp Mansion is currently a restaurant and Inn that harbors a dark secret.<\/p>\n

Four members<\/strong> of the prominent Lemp family, owners of the Lemp Brewing Company, killed themselves<\/strong> between 1904 and 1949.<\/p>\n

Three of them did so inside the mansion itself.<\/p>\n

Guests have reportedly heard footsteps, knocking on doors, and even slamming doors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

They also frequently report the\u00a0uncomfortable feeling of being watched.<\/p>\n

Shadows and apparitions<\/strong>, especially that of a little boy, are also common throughout the mansion.<\/p>\n

The little boy will usually ask guests to play with him.<\/p>\n

5. The Amityville Horror House, Amityville, New York\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

On November\u00a013, 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr killed every member of his family<\/strong> as they slept with a rifle.<\/p>\n

His victims were his parents and four siblings.<\/p>\n

A little over a year later, the Lutz family moved in and abruptly left<\/strong> after living in the house less than a month.<\/p>\n

They had experienced cold spots, odd smells, slamming doors and moving objects.<\/p>\n

Their youngest daughter had even befriended what they referred to as a demonic entity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
