Fotowatio Renewable Ventures which is part of Abdul Latif Jameel Energy has launched the construction process on two solar farms in Jordan that will provide around 80,000 homes with Energy.
The new solar plants will be 2 of the largest in Jordan and are expected to generate around 2% of Jordan’s total energy energy generation capacity.
The projects will create aound 500 jobs for Jordanians during construction and operation phases. They will provide power at 6.9 and 7.6 cents per kWh which is below the average of electricity prices in Jordan.
The CEO of Abdul Latif Jameel Energy “Roberto de Diego Arozamena” said that these projects stand as tangible evidence that solar power can be a sustainable source of energy for the whole region.
