The chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports Company “Ali Majid Al-Mansoury” announced completing 70% of Abu Dhabi new airport, he expected the airport to be 90% completed by the next year.
He mentioned also during his press statement on the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Aviation Conference that construction works are picking up in the airport. He denied the occurrence of any changes in the project completion date.
Al-Mansoury mentioned that the airport’s structure has been completed and currently works are taking place on the interior structure. He declared that there are suggestions of establishing a new metro line linking between the new airport and islands of Yas and Saadiyat. It’s worth mentioning that the idea is still under study and hasn’t been settled.
According to the annual statistics about Abu Dhabi travelers for 2015, the number of travelers rose by 17.2% compared to 2014 reaching 23 million passengers.
Abu Dhabi Airports is entitled of operating and managing the international airports in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain cities since September 2006, it manages also Al-Batin private airport, Seer Island Airport, and Dilma Island Airport.
