Aldar Properties, the largest real estate developer in Abu Dhabi, has announced the release of its second annual sustainability report, demonstrating strong progress the company has made in 2019 and charting an ambitious roadmap for the future by identifying a number of key commitments.
The report has been prepared in line with key global indices and standards including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards.
Greg Fewer, Chief Financial and Sustainability Officer at Aldar Properties, said: “From the outset, we have strived to create a company where sustainability actively informs the way we operate, collaborate, innovate and grow.” He also added that the second annual sustainability report for Aldar represents an important achievement and milestone in this. Moving forward by developing a clear roadmap for the future based on strong evidence, in addition to implementing an updated strategy and framework for sustainability. The various achievements and results that we disclosed within the report not only highlight Al Aldar Properties as a responsible company, but it also provides a guide for our operations to keep pace with future trends and the accelerating global shift towards aligning corporate growth with sustainability targets.
To ensure that the reports are prepared to meet the requirements of the investors and allow for year-on-year progress of the company to be extensively monitored, Aldar Properties divided the four pillars precisely into different KPIs carefully designed according to Aldar’s Corporate Strategy. By setting 2019 as the baseline year, Aldar has significantly expanded its sustainability data coverage to include all its residential and commercial assets, hotels, entertainment facilities, and shopping destinations, as well as the drive to include Aldar Academies in the 2020 report.
