The government of Bahrain has announced plans to build a new integrated hi-tech medical city complex in the north of Muharraq governorate. According to local media, the new medical facility will include a maternity hospital, a sclerosis therapy center and an elderly-care facility. Work will start on the new project as soon as construction tenders are awarded.
The new project was announced in the course of a cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The meeting also discussed the progress of the other projects currently being developed in the area, including Muharraq Central Market and the restoration of Muharraq Souq. The Prime Minister also gave instructions to extend the services that technically and logistically support the shopping and tourism centers in the kingdom to make them more attractive to citizens and visitors.
The new high-tech healthcare development falls in line with Bahrain’s Saada project, which is a part of the government’s plans to renovate the Muharraq waterfront, aimed at enhancing the services delivered to citizens across Muharraq in various fields.
