Bahrain’s Minister of Housing, Basim bin Yaqoob Al Hamar, has announced the start of distribution of entitlement certificates for 1,000 housing units in the early stages of the Northern City, following the timetable prepared by the ministry for the distribution of 3,000 housing units.
This came at the direction of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the First Deputy Prime Minister.
Al Hamar paid a visit to the Northern City to inspect the percentage of completion of the housing projects and infrastructure works.
He said the ministry will begin to receive candidates for the entitlement certificate this week for a period of two weeks.
The city is currently undergoing construction of groups of housing projects, estimated at a total cost of BHD207 million, that will provide more than 3,000 housing units.
The Ministry of Housing is also working on more tenders for the implementation of projects in the coming period. They include the construction of over 2,700 housing units before the end of 2016 at a cost of BHD203 million.
Al Hamar confirmed that the construction of residential projects in the Northern City is progressing at an accelerating speed. Infrastructure work is also seeing progress, as construction on main and branch roads, electricity, water and sanitation has started.
