Miral, the UAE-based real estate developer, has assigned BAM International as the main contractor for the Yas Bay arena project, the first multi-purpose venue in Abu Dhabi.
In his comment on the announcement, Miral’s chief portfolio officer, B. R. Kiran commented that the arena will contribute to Yas Bay Island’s tourist attractions and is considered a step towards achieving the vision of making Yas Bay Island a world-class destination for leisure and entertainment. Kiran added that choosing BAM International as the main contractor for the arena is an important milestone in the development of the project.
The construction of the Yas Bay arena, which is a part of the 12 billion AED Yas Bay development, has started early this year and is planned to be completed by the end of the year 2019. The arena is also planned to comprise six restaurants and two cafes while the retail spaces are going to be located within walking spaces of the plaza. On the other hand, the indoor covered arena will be able to host events with a space that can accommodate up to 18,000 visitors.
