محطة كهرباء عمان

The biggest power station in Oman was opened yesterday in Sur City. The station lies in the industrial area of Sur in South Ash Sharqiyah Region.

The station will work with a production capacity of 2000 Mega Watt to cover around 28% of the electric potential in the Sultanate.

The station construction agreement was signed in 2011 between Oman Power and Water Procurement Co. and Phoenix Power Co. owned by Qatar Water and electricity Company, Japanese Marubeni and Chopo companies, and Multi technologies Company.

The construction cost reached 6 billion QAR. The project reflects the strength of economic and commercial relations between Qatar and Oman, it also proves the competitive abilities and experience acquired by the alliance.
