Nakheel received three construction bids for Deira Mall on the previously set deadline, 20th of February 2017.
According to Nakheel, the lowest bid received was at Dh4.2 billion.
Deira Mall lies at the heart of Deira Islands, sprawling across 15.3 square kilometers. It includes residential properties, restaurants, and entertainment outlets.
A waterfront and residential complex, Deira Mall’s main goal is to promote Dubai’s 2021 Vision. The vision aims to transform the region, which was formerly called “old Dubai”, into a global center for housing, retail, tourism, and entertainment.
Deira Mall will feature over 1,000 shops, cafés, restaurants and entertainment outlets on four million square feet of leasable area. As well as a car park that can host up to 8,400 vehicles.
It will also include an atrium with a retractable roof, allowing for open-air and natural light to shine through.
Once completed, the mall will be the beating heart of Deira Boulevard, the Dh5 billion community. Deira Boulevard is home to 16 residential towers with 2,900 apartments and 500,000 feet of shops.
