Al Barakah International Investments broke ground on a new touristic project in Abu Dhabi “Al Qana”. The project to include residential apartments, retail outlets, cinema hall, marina club, and a community center.
The ceremony celebrating the groundbreaking was held on Wednesday near Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and it was attended by a number of officials from Abu Dhabi Municipality.
The project will sprawl on an area of 150,000 square meters. It is expected to be wholly completed by the second quarter of 2018.
Al Qana will boast the biggest aquarium in UAE capital with 5000 meters height in addition to a large berth that could occupy up to 98 mini yachts.
Abu Dhabi is considering boosting tourism sector in the emirate. The city welcomed around 4.1 million tourists last year mainly from India, UK, USA, and China.
Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority is still aiming for more tourists. It has set a plan including establishing several tourists attraction sites and a new metro line connecting between Saadiyat Island and Midfield Terminal.
