Nakheel Properties, the renowned Dubai-based real estate development company, has awarded a $122m contract for the bridge that would connect Deira Islands, one of its key projects, with Dubai’s mainland to Wade Adams Contracting.
In his comment on the announcement, Ali Rashid Lootah, the chairman of Nakheel Properties thanked Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) for its continuous support and assistance for the transportation network being developed at Deira Islands. Lootah also announced that there are more deals on the way for their project.
Extending from Al Khaleej Road on Dubai’s mainland towards Deira Islands, the bridge spans 600 meters and comprises 12 lanes. The bridge will be developed under the supervision of Dubai RTA, and is due for completion within Q2 2020.
The bridge will connect Dubai’s mainland directly towards Deira Islands A, where some of the most promising attractions of the islands are situated like Deira Mall, Night Souk, and Riu and Centara resorts.
It is worth mentioning that, only yesterday, Nakheel Properties has awarded Beijing Water Design a $18m contract for the dancing fountain to be developed in The Pointe, the new retail destination situated in Palm Jumeirah.
