The head of planning and engineering department in Dubai municipality, Abdullah Rafe’, has mentioned that Zahrat El Shara’ or The Desert Rose project will occupy around 160 thousand citizens.
The project located in Barwa region is planned to extend on 4000 Hectars, Rafe’ in special statements to Al Khaleej newspaper, mentioned that the project’s first phase will be delivered before 2020, while the remaining units will be delivered after the Expo year.
The Desert Rose City will be totally powered by clean and renewable energy. The city will generate also around 200 extra Megawatts from the solar cells lying on the houses and buildings roofs.
Moreover, Dubai Municipality has declared its intention to establish 15 facilities and governmental projects in Dubai in 2015 costing 625 million Dirhams, in addition to 27 gardens and green areas worth 145 million Dirhams.
