The head of Dhofar Municipality, Sheikh Salem Bin Oufeit Al Shanfary, has answered during a press conference held yesterday in Plaza Resort in Salalah many inquiries said by attendants around the municipality’s plan to develop roads and infrastructure in Dhofar.
Al Shanfary said during the conference to the delay in executing projects saying that the government will take the right measures towards developers uncommitted with technical standards and timing frame set by the government.
He added during the conference that Dhofar Municipality has allocated 200 million OAR to develop roads in Dhofar and solve its traffic congestions.
Works will take place on constructing new building in Dhofar new building which stands on 42102 square meters and composed of 6 floors at a value of 13.5 million OAR. Works will start also on a new aquarium south west Al Murooj Theater at a value of 2 million and 640 thousand OAR.
In another respect preparations are taking place nowadays for Salalah Tourism Festival which starts on July 23rd and lasts for 40 days. The festival will witness number of events introducing visitors to Omani history and heritage like the drums festival and Omani frankincense market in addition to other activities like shooting contest and the festival football cup.
