Bahrain’s Dilmunia Mall Development Company will develop a family-centric mall worth BD52 million ($137 million) in the heart of Dilmunia Island.
The first of its kind in the kingdom, Mall of Dilmunia is set on an area of 26,754 square meters. It will feature over 200 retail outlets on a total built-up area of 125,000 square meters. In addition to a spacious underground car park and the kingdom’s first state-of-the-art indoor ice-rink.
The project is crescent-shaped and will include a canal and a lush landscape. The mall boasts 47,300 square meters of leasable area with entertainment venues, retail outlets, and F&B outlets from across the Middle East and North Africa.
Cyprus Cybarco Tabet JV is the main contractor of the mall, while Singapore-based DP Architects will cover its architectural design.
Dilmunia Mall Development Company chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa said: “The Mall of Dilmunia is purely a Bahrain-branded project with a balanced representation of modernistic and futuristic architecture and promotes an exciting family-oriented ambiance within it.”
“A key entertainment feature is a spectacular 16-m high cylindrical aquarium with aquatic life that will mesmerize visitors from each level of the mall and hi-tech indoor ice rink built on the first floor,” he added.
Work on the mall has already started with a completion date scheduled in October 2019. Retail units will be handed over six months before the opening date.
