Dubai Land Department (DLD), the governmental authority responsible for regulating and supervising dubai’s real estate sector, has signed an agreement with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) that aims at minimizing the misleading real estate advertisements on the internet and social media channels. The signing came as a part of GITEX Technology Week.
In his comment on the new regulation, Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, the general director of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority stated that TRA is proud of working with DLD on overcoming the issues that might hinder the growth of the real estate market of Dubai. Al Mansouri added that TRA appreciates DLD’s work on regulating digital advertisements to ensure that no violation goes unnoticed.
On the other hand, Sultan Butti bin Mejren, the general director of Dubai Land Department explained that this agreement is a major step towards defining and regulating the standard procedures for real estate advertisements and the companies’ usage of telecommunication services.
Ben Mejren added that the agreement aims for regulating the exchange of information between the real estate companies’ websites and social media channels and their clients as well as defining the procedures for blocking these websites if they did not comply with the regulations.
