The Chinese-themed mega shopping mall Dragon City located in Al Muharraq Island in Bahrain was officially opened yesterday.
The mall is managed by Chinamex Company (China Middle East Investment and Trade Promotion Center) and lies in Diyar Al Muharraq project. It includes more than 500 Chinese firms and enterprises.
The Dragon City sprawls on total space of 50,000 square meters. Besides the shopping area it includes warehouses, leisure centers, car lots, and restaurants.
Khalid Al Ruhmaihi, Head of Economic Development Board, commented on the project inauguration saying that attracting Chinese businesses to Bahrain is a priority for the board.
Bahrain is considered a gateway of the GCC market as it hosts millions of visitors coming from all around Gulf States every year either through King Fahd Causeway or Bahrain International Airport.
