Dubai Municipality has completed the first phase of constructing family playgrounds and sports arenas in several residential areas in the emirate.
The project includes family courtyards, football, and basketball courts equipped with a smart entrance gate to restrict entry to residents with key cards which will be distributed to them by the end of September.
Dawood Al Hajri, director-general of Dubai Municipality, commented: “The project aims to provide all the requirements for all housing areas in Dubai to provide the residents with the luxury of living; we have taken into consideration the types of games to be suitable for different ages for children, in order to preserve their health and wellness.”
“In addition, we provided all the requirements for people of determination as an important element in the design of arenas and stadiums, through the selection of games that are flexible and easy to use.”
“We take the vision of our wise leadership to promote the principles of welfare and happiness among the community members as an approach and basis for all the projects implemented by the Municipality. The comfort and happiness of the residents and citizens is our top priority.”
These squares and playgrounds in the residential neighborhoods are essential elements of urban planning, as they contribute to increasing social links between the inhabitants providing happiness and comfort. All the elements and components were selected according to the latest international standards. All under the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.
