Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation, also known as Empower, announced that it has signed an agreement with Ithra Dubai to provide 45,000 refrigeration tons of cooling services for Deira Waterfront, a master development owned by Ithra that comes as a major part of its Deira Enrichment Project.
In his comment on the inked agreement, Issam Galadari, director and ceo of Ithra Dubai assured that the developer’s choice of Empower to provide cooling services for a grand project such as Deira Waterfront will cement Ithra’s contribution in developing sustainable communities in Dubai.
According to the signed contract, Empower will be responsible for delivering a project of two phases to supply Deira Waterfront with the needed district cooling services. The first phase will comprise the delivery of 20,000 refrigeration tons to 18 buildings in the development spanning 57 hectares. The second phase will comprise delivering 25,000 refrigerations tons to 28 buildings that span 91 hectares.
It is worth mentioning that, along with Deira Waterfront, Deira Enrichment Project will also include the Gold Souk Extension which will span 6.4 hectares to house 400 commercial units including 225 offices and 175 retail units, in addition to 289 residential units.
