The Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation, also known as Empower, announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Wasl Group, the leading UAE-based asset management group, to provide the district cooling services to Wasl Tower project in Business Bay, Dubai.
In his comment on the announcement, Ahmad bin Shafer, the CEO of Empower said that the new agreement reflects the corporation’s implementation of its strategy and vision of providing the best real estate projects of Dubai with its services. He added that Empower seeks to serve all the residential, commercial, and entertainment facilities with its high-quality services.
As per the memorandum, Empower will provide Wasl Tower with 3,900 Refrigeration Tonnes through its district cooling plant in Business Bay. Empower has already started working to provide the tower with its services, and it is planned to be completed within the fourth quarter of 2019.
Situated on Sheikh Zayed Road, Wasl Tower is a mixed-used 300-meter high tower that will comprise 64 floors including residential and commercial units, in addition to a hotel. Upon its completion, the tower’s ceramic façade will be one of the tallest of its kind in the world. The tower is due for completion in 2020.
