Ahmed Al Khatib, the Expo 2020’s vice president for real estate and delivery, announced that the infrastructure of the mega exposition’s first phase is complete and is now going through the necessary testing while the work on its second phase is on track to be finished and delivered before the end of 2018.
Al Khatib added that the production of steel at Al Wasl Plaza is going at an impressive pace that some of the steel works for the building have been erected. He also commented on the event’s ambitious sustainability goals, assuring that the event’s sustainability pavilion seeks to raise the bar for standard sustainable design.
Opening on October 22nd 2020, Expo 2020 Dubai is considered as one of the most anticipated upcoming global events. The mega event, currently undergoing its second phase of development, will be held at a site that spans more than 435 hectares of land located between the two emirates of Abu Dhabi, the UAE Capital, and Dubai.
It is worth mentioning that Dubai is also working on developing Dubai Creek Tower, a project which is set to be the world’s new tallest building with a height that exceeds the 1000 meters mark and is planned to be finished within 2020 as well.
