UAE Amazon

Amazon, the E-commerce pioneer, has opened a regional headquarters office for an affiliate company, Amazon Web Services, in Dubai.

This is the first presence of the group or one of its affiliate companies in the Middle East and North Africa.

The headquarters are expected to launch before the end of 2016, this is due to the significant growth that Amazon Web Services has witnessed recently.

In addition to its strategic plans to expand in the region and provide services for major government and private institutions.

This choice reflects the importance of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates on the world’s digital map.

A report issued by the Investment Corporation of Dubai stressed the importance of a comprehensive digital shift in Dubai in order to attract knowledgeable and technologically-advanced investment.

The report also pointed out that Dubai has seen the opening of centers specializing in research, development, and innovation over the past period.

Dubai now enjoys an infrastructure and legislative environment suited to lead the digital transformation and build a knowledge-based economy at the local and regional level.

This digital transformation has also helped attract large, leading companies from across the globe.

This, in turn, has led to a reinforcement of Dubai’s direct foreign investments in the areas of technology, research, and development.
