Emaar Properties has announced that the pile foundations of The Tower are now complete.
The Tower is expected to be the world’s largest building once completed. The building’s pile tested a load of 36,000 tons, setting a new record for the maximum carried by a single foundation pile.
Furthermore, The Tower’s structural facets will be visible in a matter of days, as teams are ready on-site to speed up the development work. The foundation of the building was formed by over 145 barrette pile.
Designed by Spanish-Swiss architect Santiago Calatrava Valls, The Tower is located at Dubai Creek Harbour. While the tower’s final height is yet to be revealed, it is set for completion in 2020.
It will be a part of one of the largest retail communities in the world, the 6 square km Dubai Creek Harbour.
The foundation stone of the project was laid back in October of 2016 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
