Galfar Engineering and Contracting, the leading Oman-based construction and contracting company, has been awarded a contract with a value that exceeds the $77m mark to build two water networks in the Omani northern governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, specifically in Al Hamra and Bilad Sait.
As per the contract, Galfar Engineering and Contracting is expected to deliver the project in 993 days. The project’s schedule comprises 90 days for commissioning and 60 days for mobilisation after receiving the needed instructions from the project’s engineer.
This comes shortly after another major contract Galfar Engineering and Contracting won back in December 2018, where the contractor has been awarded a contract with the value of almost $14m from Saipem for pre-construction works for the site of Duqm Refinery in Ras Markaz, which is considered one of the biggest construction projects in Oman. Upon its completion, the refinery will have the planned production capacity of around 230,000 barrels.
It is worth mentioning that Galfar Engineering and Contracting has recently published its unaudited financial results and statements for the year 2018, where the construction giant is shown to generate $6.8m of net profit, which marked a significant improvement from the $15m loss the company recorded in 2017.
