Ithmaar Development Company (IDC) has announced signing an agreement with the design consultancy Dar Al Handasah Consultants (Shair and Partners) to design Dilmunia Gateway Bridge linking between Dilmunia Island and Bahrain Main Island according to a statement.
The agreement was signed by Mohamed Khalil Al Sayed, member of the board and chief executive at Ithmaar Development Company, and the director of operations at Dar Al Handasa Consultants (Shair and Partners) Bassam Shakhshir.
The statement mentioned that the bridge will be designed according to world-class standards to be an appealing landmark in Bahrain Kingdom.
Dilmunia is a mixed-use project located in a man-made island off Muharraq. The project includes health centres and hospitals beside residences, hotels, shopping and leisure centre.
The project sprawls on 125 hectares and it is totally managed by Ithmaar Development Company (IDC) which is a subsidiary of Ithmaar Bank, a well-established Bahraini-based Islamic bank.
Mohammed Khalil Al Sayed, IDC chief executive, expressed his happiness for working with Dar Al Handasah Consultants on establishing this key part of Dilmunia project.
The chief executive mentioned that the company is confident that the bridge design will cover the aesthetic, traffic, and utility crossings objectives while maintaining cost efficiency and durability standards.
