Marriott International and Khamas Group of Investment have announced an agreement to build a Courtyard by Marriott and Residence Inn by Marriott in Dubai’s Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC) development.
Set to open in 2020, the hotels will add 250 rooms to Marriott’s portfolio in the UAE. Courtyard by Marriott JVC will feature 150 rooms while Residence Inn by Marriott JVC will add another 100 rooms to Jumeirah Village Circle. The hotels will be interconnected and will share facilities such as food and beverage outlets, a health and leisure club with a swimming pool and meeting spaces.
Located in close proximity to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, the hotels will also have easy access to Dubai’s business districts and leisure attractions. Furthermore, they are a 25-minute drive to the main site of The World Expo in 2020 and the Al Maktoum International Airport.
Jerome Briet, vice president – Lodging Development, Middle East, Marriott International, said: “We are excited to work with the Khamas Group to open a new Courtyard and Residence Inn in the up and coming JVC Development which is strategically located and in close proximity to the site of the World Expo in 2020.”
“Not only does this agreement illustrate our commitment to growing Marriott International’s portfolio in the UAE but it also reinforces the demand for mid-market hotel development in the market,” he added.
