Property owners, associations and landlords in Bahrain will benefit from legal assistance thanks to an agreement signed between a government watchdog and the Bahrain Bar Society.
The memorandum of understanding between the society and the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Rera) will see lawyers provide independent observer services to landlords and owners associations.
In addition, it will help parties involved in forming owners associations in properties with common areas or shared amenities – and where service charges are payable.
Rera chief executive Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa signed the agreement with Bahrain Bar Society chairman Hassan Bedaiwi. “The signing of this agreement with such a distinguished body as the Bahrain Bar Society indicates the importance Rera places on having properly constituted owners associations,” said Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
