Majid Al Futtaim will develop a 70,000 square meters lagoon with 400 meters of beach at its new mixed-use community in Dubai, Tilal Al Ghaf.
Al Futtaim has signed a deal with Chile-based company Crystal Lagoons to supply the lagoon with its patented water treatment technology.
In addition to more than 400 meters of sandy beaches, the lagoon will feature 1.5 kilometers of waterfront promenade.
The mixed-use community will also feature around 355,000 square meters of lush green landscapes, 18km of pedestrian trails and 11km of cycling paths.
The first Crystal Lagoon opened in 2006 in the San Alfonso del Mar resort in Chile. Nowadays the company has more than 600 projects across 60 countries worldwide in different stages of development.
