At a ceremony attended by senior officials, Majid Al Futtaim has broken ground on Carrefour’s largest regional distribution centre located at the National Industries Park in Dubai.
It is worth mentioning that the new centre will be four times bigger than the current largest centre in the region.
Younis Al Mulla, the Senior VP, stated that the new distribution centre will feature advanced warehousing, storage and logistics technologies.
He also added that it is expected to save up to 50% of energy per cubic meter.
This goes in line with Majid Al Futtaim sustainability goals for energy efficiency.
That is not, as the multi-temperature storage will be designed to store all types of foods including dry foods.
