The traditional market that stretches in the heart of Manama in Bahrain is set to witness a major facelift by the end of this year according to a report issued by BNA.
The renovation scheme was approved during a meeting between the chief executive officer (CEO) of Bahrain Authority of Tourism and Exhibitions Shaikh Khaled bin Hammod and the team in charge of the development project.
The meeting included a presentation delivered by Urban and Old Suqs development expert Hank Dittmar about developing Manama Suq and converting it to a trade hub and tourism destination.
Bin Khalifah said that a comprehensive plan was approved to develop the Old Suq area in partnership with entities from private sector.
It’s worth mentioning that the Old Suq is one of the most famous traction points in Bahrain where hundreds of tourists flock every year to experience the traditional habits and life style of Old Bahrainis.
