Dubai-based developer Nakheel has signed a Dh1.5 billion ($408.28 million) contract with UAE-based Dhabi Contracting for the construction of its Al Khail Avenue in Dubai, UAE.
Al Khail Avenue is located alongside Dubai’s Al Khail Road on the edge of the Jumeirah Village Triangle (JVT) community.
Construction on the retail, dining and entertainment hub is set to begin in early October of the current year. Nakheel has announced that the hub will also feature a 252-room hotel.
The 18-storey hotel will feature an all-day restaurant, coffee shop, lounge, outdoor terrace, pool deck gymnasium and car park.
The two million square foot Al Khail Avenue is set for completion in Q1 2019. It includes over 1.2 million square feet of leasable space, 70 percent of which is already booked.
The hub will hold a 14-screen Reel Cinemas complex, a Waitrose supermarket and fashion, children’s, home and electronics stores, and cafes and restaurants. A 4,000-space multi-storey car park will be available; it can be accessed directly from Al Khail Road.
The hotel and leisure club will further improve the JVT community, which holds over 13,000 villas, townhouses and apartments spread across 242 hectares. It also features two schools and a range of third-party residential developments currently under construction.
