Nakheel Properties, the leading Dubai-based real estate developer, has signed a deal with Centara Hotels and Resorts, the Thailand-based luxurious hospitality brand, to build a $80m beachfront resort.

In his comment on the partnership announcement, Ali Rashid Lootah,  chairman of Nakheel Properties explained that the new partnership reflects Nakheel’s commitment to contribute to the development and diversity of the ever-growing tourism sector of Dubai through working with international brands and help introducing them to Dubai.

Situated in an excellent location on the beach in Deira Islands, the waterfront master development owned by Nakheel, the new resort will comprise 601 rooms and it will be operated by Centara Hotels and Resorts to be the brand’s first project in the UAE. The restort will include 114 family-friendly rooms, special needs rooms, deluxe rooms, suites and duplexes that span 1,200 square feet of space.

In addition to the rooms, the resort will also house high-end entertainment and business facilities including world-class restaurants, a waterpark, a fitness center and a club for kids. The new resort will contribute 600 rooms to the growing four-star hotel segment in Dubai which currently includes more than 25,000 rooms.

It is worth mentioning that Centara has opened its first project in the Middle East region in 2017 in Muscat, Oman.
