Dubai-based developer Nakheel has signed two contracts with global hospitality operator, Hilton, to develop 704 new hotel rooms and serviced apartments in Dubai.
Set to operate under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand, the firms signed a management agreement for Nakheel’s 254-room property at Jumeirah Village Triangle and a Letter of Intent for a new hotel and serviced apartment complex at Deira Islands.
The projects come as part of Nakheel’s $1.36bn (DH5bn) hospitality expansion which will add over 5,800 new hotel rooms and serviced apartments across 18 projects in Dubai.
Ali Rashid Lootah, chairman of Nakheel, said: “Our new partnership with Hilton reflects our commitment to collaborate with globally-renowned and reputed operators to deliver new and unique hospitality projects across Dubai.”
Located in the Jumeirah Village Triangle, DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai Al Khail Avenue is currently under construction and expected to open in 2019. It will be directly linked to Nakheel Malls’ Al Khail Avenue which is also set to open in 2019.
The hotel will feature 254 rooms -including four suites-, an all-day restaurant, a coffee shop, a lounge, an outdoor terrace, a pool deck, a gymnasium and a car park, as well as a leisure club.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Residences Deira Islands is a twin tower complex boasting 250 hotel rooms and 200 serviced apartments. It is currently being designed with a delivery date set by 2020. The hotel will be a part of Nakheel’s $1.36bn (AED5bn) Deira Boulevard community, which is a 2-tower residential, retail, and commercial complex in the Deira Islands waterfront city.
