Oman plans a major tourism project in Barka

Omani National Development & Investment Company (ASAAS) has uncovered its plan to establish a massive leisure and entertainment community in Barka, which lies in the north of the Sultanate.

The project will span on 1.5 million square meters and will have several amenities and touristic destinations.

According to the company, the new project will feature an integrated theme park, a waterpark, an equestrian center, in addition to a number of hotels, residential areas, and retail areas.

The CEO of ASAAS “Khalid Al Yahmadi” said that the new project will add vitality to Barka and will deliver high economic returns, attract investments, and stimulate development process in the area.

The project is planned by the Singaporean urban and infrastructure consultancy company Surbana Jurong, which is one of Asia’s largest companies in this field.

Barka project isn’t the first to be established by ASAAS. The company has just announced building a multi-use hospitality facility in Al Khuwair to be managed by Hilton.

The company plans developing a diverse portfolio of OAR1 billion projects during the next 10 years.
