The luxurious Shangri-La Hotel in Dubai has announced that phase one of renovations is now complete.
The renovation program has a cost of Dh70 million ($19 million)
The first phase included revamps to the hotel’s public areas including the Lobby Lounge and Dunes Café.
Renovation at the Shangri-La included an extension to the Lobby Lounge.
As well as the conversion of Dunes Café into a more private dining area.
Chandelier Designers Lasvit has designed a wave-like chandelier weighing more than 700 bags of sugar for the hotel entrance.
Phase one started in June of last year, and the hotel is now preparing for phase two.
Scheduled for completion in 2018, phase 2 will include renovation of 302 rooms and suites.
