Qatar is preparing to open its first theme park resort, “Salwa Resort & Spa”, introducing a new concept in the leisure tourism sector.
It will be the first hotel, resort, and spa connected to a theme park in the country.
The theme park resort is located next to “Aqua Park” and is destined to become a touristic hub. Most visitors to Qatar from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) come from Saudi Arabia to enjoy the water park during Eid holidays and the summer festival.
Mohamed Firdaus Raj, General Manager of Aqua Park Qatar, said the theme park resort will also increase the number of visitors to the theme park in.
According to Raj, ninety percent of the hotel’s construction work has been completed. Focus has now turned to interior work, as the hotel is expected to open its doors during Q1 or Q2 of 2017.
The hotel includes more than 70 rooms and nine villas enjoying privacy and stunning views. The main feature of the hotel will be its spa.
The project comes within the framework of the state’s interest in the tourism sector, and to meet the wishes of citizens and residents. The resort provides the opportunity for visitors to enjoy the tranquility of scenic gardens within wide open spaces, away from the noise of the city.
The resort is characterized by attractive designs that aim to add a touristic outlet for both citizens and tourists.
