The rents rate hiked in Abu Dhabi in the last 2 years by 50% after the removal of rental cap according to many tenants there.
A number of tenants in Abu Dhabi have asked, according to “Emirates Today” newspaper to restore the rental cap to not exceed 5% a year especially that workers and employees’ salaries didn’t rise in the last period.
Tenants asked the rental disputes resolution committee in Abu Dhabi to delegate some representatives to identify the real value of properties which witnessed severe rents surge.
Properties owners have referred also that there is no any legal cause that could stand against rents increase, owners said also that rental cap wasn’t by any mean fair to them due to the rising maintainance costs in their properties.
It’s worth mentioning that rents in Abu Dhabi hiked by 8% in the second quarter of 2014 in comparison with the first quarter of the same year.
