Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the construction works of the road project that will link Jumeirah with Al Khail Road will be completed within the fourth quarter of 2018. The first phase of the project is now 86%, while the second phase is 60% and it is expected to be delivered in 2019.
In his comment on the progress announcement, His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, the general director of Dubai’s RTA explained that the road project aims at reducing the pressure caused by the growing traffic volumes on the roads of Dubai.
With the purpose of connecting Jumeirah with Al Khail Road and other parallel roads, the project’s first phase includes the development of both of Latifa bint Hamdan Street and Um Al-Sheif Street extending from Al Safa Interchange to Al Manara Interchange.
On the other hand, the second phase of the project will focus on improving the link between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road through the development of the Al Qouz entrances and improving a section that spans 3 kilometers from Al Khail Road to the interchange of Al Khail Road.
