Work on the Saada West project, a seafront property development in the Muharraq area of Bahrain, is steadily progressing.
Located at the entrance to the old city, Saada West is a mixed-use waterfront development with retail and hospitality services. Furthermore, the project will feature family entertainment, harbor-side dining, and a modern marina. The project is being developed by Bahrain Real Estate Investment (Edamah), the real estate arm of the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat).
Phase One of the project, which involves reclamation works, has now been completed. As for phase two, it includes the construction of seven buildings with a total of 45 retail and food and beverage units in addition to a multi-story car-park building. Saada West is due for completion in May 2019, with operations expected to begin in June 2019.
Essam Khalaf, the Minister of Works, said: “The contemporary development of Bahrain’s historic city, Muharraq, is designed to enhance regional culture tourism and family entertainment.”
“I am very pleased to see how the area is progressing and look forward to the upcoming stage of building works and development,” he added.
Khalid Al Rumaihi, the chairman of Edamah, said: “In line with the vision set by HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, the team in Edamah has been working very hard to ensure the area’s development is conducted smoothly.”
“The second phase in which contracting works are to take place is about to start and we expect to award a contract for the project by May,” Al Rumaihi added.
