Drake & Scull International (DSI), the UAE-based regional leader in engineering and construction services, has completed the key phase of Sabah Al Salem University development in Shadadiya.
Executed at a total value of AED 200 million ($54.4 million), the scope of work includes construction, operation, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing works, in addition to the supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of all electrical and mechanical works in the colleges of Arts and Education.
Drake & Scull for Electrical Contracting will complete the second, and final, phase and hand it over by the end of 2019.
Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education in Kuwait Dr Hamed Al Azmi has visited the campus and said that the opening of six faculties came in line with the plan of transition and operation approved by the higher council of the university, and affirmed the near completion of the other faculties to ensure their gradual opening as per the plan.
The minister added that all facilities and capabilities were available to guarantee that the project does not falter, as it is one of the most important development projects the country due to its role in the preparation of future generations.
