The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has opened the doors of Snow City in Al Othaim Mall Rabwa in Riyadh, its first indoors snow theme park at a cost of SAR100 million ($26.6 million) over an area of 5,000 square meters.
According to Al Othaim, all preparations have been made to ensure a smooth opening process for Snow City. Construction was based on the highest safety and security measures, as well as the incorporation of innovative technology.
The aim is to create a synthetic snow environment that resembles European winters, with a temperature of 3 degrees below zero. It will allow some visitors to experience snow for the first time in their lives.
Fahd Bin Abdullah Al Othaim, deputy chairman of Al Othaim Holding board, said that Snow City is the first and largest holistic snow theme park in the Kingdom. It has a capacity of 350 visitors per hour.
Snow City will offer a variety of 12 activities including a panoramic suspension bridge, ice bumper cars, sledge and ski zone, rope courses, a climbing wall, and snowmobiles.
The theme park will present shows and host events that play with its beautiful design and location. Luxury, entertainment, and complete privacy for both men and women will enhance the park experience. “Thaluj” the snowman and “Batriqu” the penguin will welcome the visitors all day long.
