Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Deputy Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and the Chairman of the Public Investments Fund, has announced the launch of Al Qidiya City project which will be the world’s largest cultural, sports, and entertainment city.
The city lies southwest the kingdom’s capital Riyadh and it will sprawl over a total area of 334 km square, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Commenting on the project, Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that the city will stand as a landmark and significant center to meet the recreational, social, and cultural needs for the future generation.
He added saying that the project is a part of the scheme to support the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030 which will contribute in diversifying the sources of income, boosting the national economy, and create more job opportunities for Saudi youth.
Work will start on the project construction by next year, while the first phase of the project will be opened in 2022.
The Public Investments Fund of Saudi Arabia is the largest investor in the project accompanied by a number of local and foreign investors, which supports the Kingdom’s position as an international investment hub.
