SSH has launched the Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Center (ASCC), which is a new museum district in Kuwait City. The cultural district will boost six main buildings A Natural History Museum; Science Museum; Museum of Islamic History; Space Museum; Fine Arts Centre; and a Theatre.
The new cultural center coupled with the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Centre, will form Kuwait’s new national cultural district, SSH stated.
“The cultural center is a spectacular addition to Kuwait’s cultural heritage. As the largest museum project of its kind in the world, SSH is proud and honored to have been involved in helping His Royal Highness Sheikh Sabah and the Amiri Diwan to fulfil their cultural aspirations for Kuwait and the region,” said George Abi Hanna, the managing director of SSH Kuwait.
“Kuwaiti architecture is represented by the main ‘street’, which echos the traditional ‘Fareej’. This creates exciting spaces, Islamic patterns, corners and walkways, mirroring the experience of walking down a traditional, busy Kuwaiti street,” he added.
