Dubai Parks and Resorts, the exclusive GCC partner for US-based Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, has announced their full-fledged support towards the construction of a Six Flags theme park in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The announcement followed a directive from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai and meetings held by Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman during his recent visit to the United States.
The plan to construct a Six Flags theme park complements the Kingdom’s “Vision 2030”, which aims to boost the economy, expand revenue sources and enrich the entertainment scene for locals, foreigners and visitors. Raed Al Nuaimi, chief executive of Dubai Parks and Resorts, confirmed that the company is developing new entertainment-oriented concepts that will be implemented for the first time in the region. Dubai Parks and Resorts is proud of its pioneering role in the process and brings forth a team of experts and specialists to fortify the plans.
Six Flags, which runs 18 parks in North America, is considered a global leader in the industry. Last year, it welcomed 29 million visitors reeling in over $1 billion in revenue per year. Six Flags Dubai is expected to open in the last quarter of 2019.
