Nakheel Properties, one the most prominent real estate development companies in Dubai, has awarded a $18m contract for its dancing fountain project that is situated in The Pointe, Palm Jumeirah.
In his comment on the contract award, Ali Rashid Lootah, the chairman of Nakheel Properties explained that Nakheel chose Beijing Water Design since it is one of the best China-based fountain specialists, adding that this contract award is considered a significant milestone for retail and leisure destination The Pointe is.
Launched in 2012, The Pointe is one of Nakheel’s most ambitious additions to the retail and shopping landscape of its own prominent Palm Jumeirah destination that is situated 5 kilometers away from Dubai mainland. The $217m project’s site spans 13 hectares that include the dancing fountain that sprawls 12,000 square meters, in addition to a spa, a dine-in cinema, a promenade, carpark spaces that can take up to 1,600 vehicles, along with many other high-end amenities.
The Pointe will be accessible through both sea and land. The project’s original planned completion date was 2016, but it was changed later on to be the fourth quarter of 2018 instead.
