US-based Dow Chemical Company has announced plans to launch a new plant for manufacturing a set of polymers in Saudi Arabia with a total investment of $100 million.
The new facility will take place in the PlasChem Park in Jubail, the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia. It will produce a wide range of polymers for industrial and architectural coatings and water treatment.
This new investment is expected to create around 1,000 jobs. This new venture will complement Dow’s existing coating facilities in the Middle East, which include a facility in Jebel Ali, Dubai.
Andrew Liveris, Dow’s chairman, said during a recent event in Riyadh that Dow is one of the largest foreign investors in the kingdom and it has been a long-term strategic partner for nearly four decades.
