The Saudi government has awarded the Turkey-based Yuksel the construction contract of a 506 million dollars Bus Rapid Transit.
The project will include 34 stations, 1,353 community bus stops and 6 pedestrian bridges in Riyadh.
According to Emin Sazak, Yuksel chairman and CEO, this project will require at least the hands of 4,500 workers.
Sazak added that the Bus Rapid Transit systems aim to provide passengers with a clean and a fast way of transportation similar to that of the metro.
The project is expected to generate a major shift from private cars to public transportation in Riyadh.
